President

Rob Young is a 1982 graduate of Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida, and graduated from The University of Florida in 1986 with a major in Finance. He is married to his high school sweetheart Lyn, and they have three children, Allan, Lindsay, and Evan.

Rob began his career in title insurance in 1993 and learned from the ground up what it takes to search, examine, process and close a real estate transaction. In the early years, Rob helped handle the foreclosure business for a major lender from initial search to final REO closing.

As the President of the in-house title company for a large South Tampa real estate brokerage, Rob handled many high end purchase and refinance transactions, coordinated large multi-family project closings, and supervised a staff of 8. In December of 2006, Rob opened Benefit Title Services, LLC.

Rob is a resident of Beach Park, a member of Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, past board member of the Beach Park Homeowners Association, former Little League manager, and proud parent of son Allan, a sophomore at USF, Lindsay, a Colgate bound daughter and senior at Berkeley Prep., and Evan, a sophomore at Jesuit High School.

Doug Heverly has worked in the Title Insurance industry for over 16 years.  A licensed title insurance agent, he has produced real estate title searches and examinations for title commitments on purchases and refinancing during that time.  He is currently working extensively in the short sale environment.  He has focused on construction and conversion condominium development closings aiding developers in meeting State of Florida requirements and assisting buyers throughout the closing process.

Doug has an extensive background in the core functions of searching and examination and previous positions within the lending industry enable Doug to understand the customer's and lender’s position within a transaction.  He parlays that knowledge and his personality into a unique ability to turn a potential stressful situation into a friendly closing.  His years of experience in the industry help comfort those involved and protect the integrity of the closing.

Born in Pennsylvania, and raised across the globe as an “Army Brat”, Doug is now a 20 year resident of St. Petersburg, a husband and father of two daughters, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church & School.

 

Susan Churchwell

Susan is a second generation native Floridian and has lived in Ocala, Okeechobee, Boynton Beach, Ft, Myers, Old Town on the Suwannee River, Naples, and Tampa. She attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa and Florida College in Temple Terrace.

Susan’s career in title insurance spans 30 years, beginning at General Title in Tampa. She worked as a closer and manager for a national underwriter before joining Paramount Title where was promoted to the position of Operations Manager and oversaw 8 offices.

Susan was responsible for overseeing several large homebuilder accounts where she successfully managed the high volume and month-end demands, while remaining focused on providing a smooth closing for all involved.

A resident of Seminole Heights, Susan is a proud mother of two, and grandmother of two fabulous grandsons.

 

 

Barbara Brown

Closer / Marketing

Barbara joins Benefit Title with over 25 years experience in real estate, title and mortgage, as a previous owner of a mortgage company two international real estate franchises and title companies.

Her background also includes working for law firms for 11 years and co-hosting a live radio talk show on real estate and home improvement for over a year. Barbara’s articles on personalities and customer service in real estate transactions have been published locally and nationally, and she produced and taught real estate courses at various associations of Realtors.

Barbara and her husband, Steve Guzzon, married in 2006 and are South Tampa residents with five children and three grandchildren in their family. As avid motorcyclists, on weekends you’ll find them riding their bikes on personal trips or with Patriot Guard Riders, supporting various charities for military families.
